Global Finance magazine named Sberbank CIB1 the best equity bank in Central and Eastern Europe in its World’s Best Investment Banks 2017 survey.
The authoritative jury selected the winners based on 2016 performance among the best banks providing investment services all over the world. The award was given based on the results of a survey of the leading analysts in economics and finance, heads of companies and other professionals who read the magazine. The evaluation was based on such criteria as market share, number and volume of deals, services and consultancy, structuring possibilities, distribution network, efforts to match market conditions, innovations, tariffs, market reputation, and others.
Igor Bulantsev, Senior Vice-President of Sberbank, Head of Sberbank CIB, said: “We are pleased that our efforts to provide high-quality services on the equity market have been recognised by the international financial community. The market revived, investment activities of our clients expanded, while there was considerable demand for securities of high-quality issuers outside Russia in 2016. This is proved by a number of important deals, in which we participated, first and foremost, the privatization of 10.9% of Alrosa PJSC in summer 2016 – at that moment it was one of the largest privatization deals through a public market in Eastern Europe since late 2013 and the largest Russian placement since February 2014. The beginning of this year also saw several large deals featuring our participation: the IPO of 33.55% of Detsky Mir’s shares and SPO of 4.5% of Phosagro. We are expecting new prominent deals on the equity capital market in 2017 and are ready to help our clients reach their goals.”
